This SpringerOpen journal promotes basic and applied in silico research at both the cellular and tissue level that integrates expanding knowledge in biology and engineering.
Research published here quantifies the physical, biological and chemical environment in which cells and tissues behave and function in healthy and pathological conditions, and scrutinizes relationships between chemical, physical, mechanical and biological processes including cell growth, division, differentiation, death, migration and tissue growth, remodeling, repair and decay.
The contents include analytical and computational models based on physico-biological principles such as solid-viscous mechanics, fluid mechanics, poro-elasticity or cell biology, and their interactions, as well as new mathematical methods that facilitate analysis of biological systems in both cell, colony and tissue scales.
